Prize Bond FAQs

Answers to the questions Pakistani prize bond holders ask most: which bonds are valid, how to check numbers, claim deadlines, tax rates, lost bonds, wallet alerts and more.

The questions Pakistani bond holders ask us most. If your question is not here, message us and we will add it.

Basics

What is a prize bond?

A bearer savings certificate issued by the Government of Pakistan. It pays no interest; instead your number is entered into four draws a year for cash prizes, and your money stays fully refundable at any time.

Which prize bonds are still valid?

Rs. 100, Rs. 200, Rs. 750 and Rs. 1,500 bearer bonds, plus Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 40,000 Premium (registered) bonds. The old Rs. 7,500, 15,000, 25,000 and 40,000 bearer bonds have been discontinued and no longer take part in draws.

How often are the draws held?

Four times a year for each denomination — roughly once every three months, in a different city each time. The full calendar is on our draw schedule page.

Do I need the series letters to check?

No. Only the digits are used for matching. Enter the number exactly as printed, without the letters.

Checking results

How many numbers can I check at once?

Up to 500 individual numbers, or a continuous series of 2,000 numbers, in a single search on the Advance Search page — free, with no account needed.

How far back can I check?

The last 12 years of draws. That matters because a prize can be claimed for six years after the draw.

When do you publish a new result?

Within hours of the draw, as soon as National Savings releases the official list. The first prize and second prize numbers usually appear first, followed by the complete third prize list.

Can I download the full list?

Yes — every draw is available as a PDF and as an Excel file from our PDF library, free and without registration.

Is the scanner accurate?

In good light it reads the number correctly the great majority of the time. It always shows you the number it read so you can correct it before checking. Nothing is uploaded — the reading happens inside your own phone. Try it at scanner.prizebond.net.pk.

Winning and claiming

How long do I have to claim a prize?

Six years from the date of the draw.

How much tax is deducted?

15% if you are on the Active Taxpayer List (a filer), 35% if you are not. Use the tax calculator to see your exact net amount.

Where do I claim?

Third prizes at National Savings Centres and designated bank branches; first and second prizes through the SBP BSC field office in your city. Premium bond prizes are credited to the bank account registered against your CNIC. Full details on the How to Claim page.

What if I lost the bond but I know the number?

For bearer bonds (Rs. 100–1,500), the bond itself is the proof of ownership, so a lost bond generally cannot be claimed. Premium bonds are registered to your CNIC, so a lost premium bond can be reported and replaced — this is one of the main reasons to prefer premium bonds for large holdings.

My bond is torn. Is it still valid?

Usually yes, if the number and the security features are readable. Take it to a National Savings Centre and ask; do not tape or repair it yourself.

Wallet and alerts

What does My Wallet do?

You save your bond numbers once. After every new draw we check all of them automatically and notify you by email and WhatsApp if any number wins. We also re-check several years of past draws, so old missed prizes surface too. Open it at app.prizebond.net.pk.

Is the wallet free?

The first month is free, and a free tier is always available. Paid packages simply raise how many bonds you can store. See packages.

Are my bond numbers safe with you?

We store them only to match against draw lists and to notify you. We never sell or share them. See our Privacy Policy.

Is there an app?

Yes — see android.prizebond.net.pk. You can also open the web app in your browser and add it to your home screen.

Checking results, downloading lists, the schedule, the scanner and the tax calculator are all free. Only the larger wallet packages are paid.
